Irrecha Australia – Celebrating Culture, Community & Gratitude

Irrecha Australia honours the Oromo people’s thanksgiving tradition a celebration of nature, gratitude, and unity carried from East Africa to Australia. What began as small community gatherings has grown into vibrant national festivals that bring together elders, youth, and friends from across multicultural Australia.

As a registered non‑profit, Irrecha Australia preserves and promotes Oromo cultural heritage, creates inclusive spaces for learning and celebration, and empowers young people to carry traditions forward with pride.

We envision an Australia where Oromo culture thrives as part of the nation’s diverse identity. Through festivals, education, and community initiatives, we strengthen connections, honour our heritage, and celebrate a way of life rooted in gratitude, resilience, and unity.
